Meet Ally and her new car

Ally Walker got "the gift of a lift" when CarsINC gave away car #24, a gift from Dr. Bill Repaskey.

"Ally" Alexandria Walker has 3 beautiful children between the ages of 9 - 14, a job, and she is studying to get a job as a Certified Nursing Associate.

She is very happy to get Bill's car.

You never know when there is new life from your old car. If you have one, please consider "the gift of a lift" to CarsINC today.

If Trudi has a car, she can take a job!

CarsINC bought a 2001 Dodge Stratus (car #23) and gave "the gift of a lift" to Trudie Taylor this past Friday. Trudi was also referred to CarsINC from the Women's & Children's Shelter.

Trudi had job offers as a Certified Nurse Associate for home care if she had a car....and now she does!

Car #22: On a roll!

Car #22 is not a car...but a van! The Life Transformation Program at the Women's and Children's shelter needed a van and CarsINC found a 2003 van for them.

With your help, we are helping provide transportation to many women and children.

Bless you!

Your "gift of a lift" can help lower mothers' anxiety

A new study finds that poverty creates anxiety in mothers.

The researchers surveyed nearly 5,000 parents and found that mothers who received free food or had a difficult time paying their utility bills were nearly 2.5 times more likely to have symptoms that would warrant a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder, compared with those who said they had no trouble paying their bills.

The "gift of a lift" is just one way we help mothers cope with the financial strains they bear.

Give in thanks for your father

In light of Father's Day coming soon, we have an opportunity to make a huge impact by helping the Women's and Children's Shelter on South Cedar, which is part of the work of the City Rescue Mission.

They need a car for Jamie, a college educated woman living in the shelter until she has a car to maintain a job; and they need a minivan to transport women from their Life Transformation Program. This is a bible-based program that focuses on heart change and directing students toward Christ.

I hope you will make a contribution to make a difference in their lives like we did with Billie earlier this year.

Please send your checks to:

Billie gets the 20th car from CarsINC

Billie, a mother of two, recently received CarsINC's 20th car. Hers is an amazing story of how God brings together many hands to make his work light.

CarsINC worked with the Sparrows Nest program to get Billie her car. Billie would not have a car, home, job, and career goals today without the love and support from a network of generous Christians who made it all possible.

Sparrows Nest was created as an off-shoot from Christian Services. They identified a need to care for homeless mothers and children and discovered that mobile homes would be a more affordable way to fill that need. Through grants from the Granger Foundation and churches who purchased mobile homes, Sparrow’s Nest has been able to provide homes at Millpond Village mobile home park. At the same time, ministry teams from churches like River Terrace commit to 18-months of support that includes help with budgeting, parenting, transportation, and career advice. At the end of 18 months, mothers can buy the home for $10.

In Billie’s case, she was able to find work as a health aide helping a couple whose wife had a stroke. The husband was so grateful that his wife quickly bonded with Billie that he wants to support Billie in her goal to obtain her Certified Nursing Accreditation.

Billie's story
shows that the work of many hands make “light (of Christ)” work. Her life would not be transformed without the help, donations, and prayers of so many. Thank you for your on-going support so that we can continue to help the many other Billie’s that are waiting for us.

Ashley has a new car!

Meet Ashley, a mom of two, who got a new car from CarsINC in December. She met CarsINC board member and attorney, John Bissell, who helped her with her divorce, and he introduced her to CarsINC. Ashley received the 19th car that CarsINC has given away.

The recent Census Bureau estimate is that there are 10 million single mothers raising children in the U.S. CarsINC is proud to be able to help single mothers like Ashley with the "gift of a lift."
